After 12 years working on EU financial services policy, I found out that I am a social entrepreneur trapped in the body of an EU official, so I left the EU to set up Bolsa Social in Madrid, together with a group of talented and committed professionals. In Bolsa Social I can apply the experience I gained at the Spanish Treasury (Madrid), the European Commission (Brussels) and the European Securities and Markets Authority (París).

He completed my studies in November 2015 when I graduated with honors and successfully defended my Master Thesis on crowdfunding and its legal regulation in the USA and Slovenia. My Master thesis became the foundation of the start-up company I founded in January 2016 – Adrifund. Adrifund is the first (and still the only one) Slovenian rewards-based crowdfunding platform. So far 23 projects have successfully raised more than 120.000,00 EUR since March 2016. Overall success rate of Adrifund’s projects is 62 %. Businesswise I partnered up with Icelandic crowdfunding platform Karolina fund.

Matej is amongst one of the few and biggest crowdfunding experts in Slovenia and the first person who introduced crowdfunding to Slovenia in a local aspect. Founder ReachScale

David Wilcox

Moderator for Crowd Dialog Europe and Founder of ReachScale

Founded ReachScale to align the social advocacy goals of corporations with high potential social entrepreneurs working in areas of common interest. Creating ReachScale was a personal response to finding so many exciting and visionary social entrepreneurs with scalable impact models that lacked an organic path to funding and growth.

ReachScale built it's global network of best scale opportunities by looking at thousands of social enterprises 3-10 years after they got attention from the fifty organizations that identify the early stage entrepreneurs--Ashoka and Skoll Foundations, for example. The reviews indicated that only 10% of the award winners were scaling. Ranking the top dozen worldwide ReachScale applied its network to get them to next level.

ReachScale’s global network brings together some of the best-known social enterprise leaders with some hidden Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) solution gems. ReachScale works closely with these scale leaders to develop their next level scale plans.
